Advanced methods and algorithms for analysis of coupled problems in electromagnetics

Abstract:

Předložená dizertační práce se zabývá moderní oblastí matematického modelování, kterou představuje spojení numerického řešení matematických modelů, jejich analýza a také optimalizace. Toto téma je velmi aktuální a jeho rozvoj přináší do oblasti vědy a techniky důležité metody a postupy, které mají značný dopad na způsoby návrhu a analýzy technologií, zařízení a jejich komplexních systémů. Motivace ke zpracování této práce vychází z potřeby a obrovské chuti řešit komplikované problémy s ohledem na praktické aplikace v oblasti elektromagnetismu. Vlastní práce je rozdělena do pěti částí. První část práce je zaměřena především na vymezení řešené oblasti a zhodnocení současného stavu poznání. Druhá část práce se zabývá formulací sdružených úloh, jejich specifiky a také metodami jejich řešení pomocí numerických metod a moderních algoritmů založených na metodě konečných prvků vyšších řádů přesnosti. Třetí část práce popisuje vybrané algoritmy pro analýzu počítačových modelů a optimalizaci. Ve čtvrté části jsou pak uvedeny rozsáhlejší ilustrativní příklady řešených technických problémů a poslední část práce je pak zaměřena na shrnutí dosažených výsledků a nastínění očekávaných směrů pokračování v dané práci. Všechny metody a algoritmy, které jsou v práci diskutovány, jsou přitom implementovány do knihovny Hermes, aplikace Agros2D a systému OptiLab, který představuje hlavní výstup práce. Tyto algoritmy jsou přitom navrženy tak, aby nebyly závislé na povaze řešeného problému a možnost jejich dalšího využití pro řešení praktických technických úloh je tak hlavním přínosem této práce.

Abstract:

The presented dissertation thesis deals with a modern domain of mathematical modeling that is represented by the connection of numerical solution of mathematical models, their analysis and also optimization. This topic is of a very high importance and its development brings to scientific and research disciplines methods and procedures with a considerable impact on design and analyses of technologies, devices and their complex systems. My motivation to this work starts from the related needs and a high temptation to solve complicated problems with respect to practical applications in the area of electromagnetism. The work itself consists of five parts. Its first part is aimed at the specification of the area to be processed and evaluation of state of the art of relevant knowledge. The second part deals with formulations of the coupled problems, their specific features and also with the ways of their solution by numerical methods and advanced algorithms based on the fully adaptive higher-order finite element method. The third part describes selected algorithms for the analysis of the computer models and optimization. The fourth part contains three larger illustrative examples of solved technical problems and the last part summarizes the results obtained and indication of directions of next research in the field. All methods and algorithms discussed in the thesis are implemented in the library Hermes, application Agros2D and system OptiLab, which represents the principal output of the work. These algorithms are proposed independently of the nature of the problem to be solved, and the possibility of their further utilization for solving practical technical tasks is the main contribution of this thesis.
