Culture and traditions of german minority in the North Bohemia

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je se zabývat kulturními specifiky a tradicí německé národnostní menšiny v České republice. Práce bude zaměřena na období po odsunu německého obyvatelstva až do současnosti a teritoriálně se bude koncentrovat na severních Čechy, res. Ústecký kraj. Nejprve budou definovány základní pojmy, s nimiž se v textu bude operovat: kultura, tradice, historická paměť - M. Halbwachs a identita). Následně bude vyložen historický přehled vývoje německé menšiny v Československu, res. České republice. Ve výzkumné části budou realizovány polo-strukturované rozhovory s příslušníky této menšiny na úrovni zastřešujících spolků (Shromáždění německých spolků v České republice) a dalších příslušníků menšiny. Práce chce zachytit specifika kulturního života této menšiny, která v posledních letech a desetiletích početně velmi ztrácí a v současnosti se jedná o tom, nakolik vůbec do budoucna bude jako národnostní skupina "přežití" schopná.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to deal with the cultural specifics and traditions of German minority in the Czech Republic. the thesis will be focused on the period afterwards the expulsion of Germans from the Czech Republic till nowadays. the thesis will be territorial concentrated on the region of North Bohemia. The thesis will be divided into two parts - theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part will define the basic concepts connected with this topic: culture, tradition, historical memory - M. Halbwachs. The practical part will focus on semi-structured interviews with the members of the German Bohemian minority. The aim of the thesis is to capture the specifics of the German Bohemian minority. The aim of the thesis is to capture the specifics of the cultural life of German Bohemian minority in North Bohemia. The numbers of this minority is decreasing year by year. The thesis deals with the question whether this minority will be able to survive in the future.
