Addressing the issue of rural depopulation

Abstract:

Tématem této diplomové práce je řešení problematiky vylidňování venkova, která s rozvojem urbanizačních a globalizačních procesů stále více nabývá na významu. Hlavním cílem této práce je definování klíčových problémů, které způsobují odliv obyvatel z vybraných venkovských oblastí. Vybrány byly obec Brodek u Konice v Olomouckém kraji, Bobnice ve Středočeském kraji a Josefův Důl v Libereckém kraji. Teoretická část práce se věnuje shrnutí základních informací na téma venkova a příčin venkovské migrace. Zde je zohledněna problematika definování venkova podle českého a zahraničního přístupu, je také zkoumán přístup k venkovu obecně. V této části se také uvádějí výhody a nevýhody venkovského prostoru, stejně jako příčiny vnitřní migrace na venkově. Analytická část začíná představením tří vybraných obcí. Dále se tyto regiony analyzují z hlediska zásadních prvků, které ovlivňují spokojenost s životem na venkově. Jedná se o vývoj počtu obyvatel a nezaměstnaných osob, infrastrukturní zajištění, dopravní komunikace, sociální aspekty, ekologii a životní prostředí, hospodářství a sociální kapitál. Poté byl v rámci práce proveden vlastní výzkum metodou dotazníkového šetření, do kterého byli zapojeni obyvatelé vybraných obcí. Výsledky dotazování byly využity k diskuzi a určení problematických aspektů.

Abstract:

The topic of this diploma thesis is to address the issue of rural depopulation, which is gaining in importance with the development of urbanization and globalization processes. The main goal of this work is to define the key problems that cause the outflow of population from selected rural areas. These are the municipality of Brodek u Konice in the Olomouc Region, Bobnice in the Central Bohemian Region and Josefův Důl in the Liberec Region. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to a summary of basic information on the topic of rural areas and the causes of rural migration. The issue of defining the countryside according to the Czech and foreign approach is taken into account here, and the approach to the countryside in general is also examined. This section also lists the advantages and disadvantages of rural areas, as well as the causes of internal migration in rural areas. The analytical part begins with the introduction of three selected municipalities. Furthermore, these regions are analyzed in terms of key elements that affect satisfaction with rural life. These are the development of the population and the unemployed, infrastructure, transport communications, social aspects, ecology and the environment, the economy and social capital. Then the work is conducted own research using a questionnaire survey, which involves residents of selected municipalities. The results of the survey are used to discuss and identify problematic aspects.
