Recycling of building materials with an experimental focus on the properties of concrete from natural aggregates and concrete using recycled materials

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je Recyklace stavebních materiálů s experimentálním zaměřením na vlastnosti betonu z přírodního kameniva a betonů s využitím recyklátů. V úvodní části jsou popsány základní pojmy týkající se legislativy, trvale udržitelného rozvoje a procesu recyklace. Práce se v teoretické části zabývá recyklací stavebního a demoličního odpadu a možnostmi jeho použití jako kameniva do nového betonu. Kromě analýzy současné podoby recyklace betonových odpadů v ČR, popisuje klady a zápory použití recyklovaného kameniva a nastiňuje možnosti, jak zvýšit efektivitu a množství recyklace kameniva. V experimentální části práce jsou porovnány mechanické vlastnosti betonu s přírodním kamenivem a betonu s recyklovaným kamenivem. V závěru jsou shrnuty a porovnány vyhodnocené výsledky experimentálních zkoušek. Použití recyklovaného kameniva do betonu je možné, ale je nutné počítat s nižší pevnostní třídou betonu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis topic is the Recycling of building materials with an experimental focus on the properties of concrete from natural aggregates and concrete using recyclates. The first part of the thesis describes the basic concepts of legislation, sustainable development, and recycling. The following chapters deal with recycling construction and demolition waste and the possibilities of its use as aggregate in new concrete. Apart from the analysis of the current state of recycling of concrete structures in the Czech Republic, it describes the pros and cons of implementing recycled aggregate to increase the efficiency and the quantity of recycling of aggregate. The experimental part of the thesis compares the mechanical properties of concrete with natural aggregates and concrete with recycled aggregates. Finally, the evaluated results of practical tests are summarised and compared. The use of recycled aggregate in concrete is possible, but it is necessary to consider the lower strength class of concrete.
