Speech and Language Development in a Child with Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum in an Interdisciplinary Context

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vývojem řeči a jazykových schopností u dítěte s agenezí corpus callosum v mezioborovém kontextu. Cílem je analyzovat specifika tohoto vývoje a identifikovat možnosti podpory celkového rozvoje. Práce kombinuje teoretická východiska s kvalitativním výzkumem formou případové studie využívající polostrukturované rozhovory. Výsledky poukazují na opožděný a nerovnoměrný vývoj řeči a jazyka v souvislosti s dalšími oblastmi a potvrzují význam včasné a komplexní intervence. Přínosem je adaptace odborného materiálu podporující informovanost v českém prostředí.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the development of speech and language skills in a child with agenesis of the corpus callosum in an interdisciplinary context. The aim is to analyse the specifics of this development and identify possibilities for supporting overall development. The study combines theoretical background with qualitative research in the form of a case study using semi-structured interviews. The results indicate delayed and uneven speech and language development in relation to other developmental domains and confirm the importance of early and comprehensive intervention. A key contribution is the adaptation of professional material to promote awareness in the Czech context.
