Metastasis in spine - radiologic and scintigraphic imaging methods

Abstract:

Obsah vlastní bakalářské práce o metastázách v páteři v radiologických a scintigrafických metodách je rozdělen do čtyř částí. V první části jsou obsažené informace o anatomii páteře. Druhá část je zaměřena na jednotlivé zobrazovací metody. V první řadě na scintigrafii skeletu a dále na RTG, CT a MR vyšetření, která jsou důležitá pro přesnou diagnostiku. Do třetí části je zahrnuta patofyziologie kostí a jednotlivé nádory metastazující do páteře. Čtvrtá část obsahuje vlastní retrospektivní studii. Jsou zde statisticky zpracovány jednotlivé zobrazovací metody, které jsou využívány při zobrazování nádorů prostaty, prsu, plic a ledvin.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on radiography and scintiography methods for the study of spinal metastases. The thesis is divided in four main parts. The first part presents an overview of the anatomy of the spine. The second part illustrates the main methods available to record the patient?s condition such as: scintiography of the skeleton, x-ray, CT (computerized tomography), MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) examination. The pathophysiology of the bones and particular tumor of the spine are described in part three. The fourth part is a retrospective analysis of the different methods used in the common praxis. Methods of screening tumors which are typically employed for the prostate, breast, lung and kidneys.
