Reconstruction of the historical part of Chomutov using modern geoinformatics methods

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na využití moderních metod geoinformatiky, konkrétně 3D modelování při rekonstrukci historické části Chomutova, se soustředěním na zbořený evangelický kostel v ulici Farského. Cílem práce je analyzovat změnu zástavby v poválečném období a na základě získaných informací vytvořit 3D model části města, kde jsou tyto změny znatelné. Součástí této práce je literární rešerše na dané téma, dále pak na metody a možné technologie, které lze použít pro 3D modelaci. Práce také představuje, jaké data byla použita při zpracovávání. V závěru této práce jsou stručně představeny výsledky. V první fázi práce se shromažďují archivní materiály jako jsou staré mapy, letecké snímky, fotografie nebo pohlednice centra města Chomutov. Na základě těchto bylo určeno umístění a vzhled původních budov v ulici. Další fáze práce se zaměřuje na možné metody, které je možné využít pro tvorbu 3D modelů, jako je například fotogrammetrie nebo ruční modelování. Hlavním cílem práce je však samotný 3D model zaniklých nebo starých budov v ulici Farského, Palackého a Žižkova náměstí v Chomutově, který byl vytvořen na základě starých fotografií a archivních snímků. Samotná modelace probíhala v programu SketchUp 2017. Dále pak v programu Twinmotion, kde bylo vytvořeno video, které bude fungovat jako informační materiál pro obyvatele, kteří se zajímají o historii města a vzhledu jeho budov.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the utilization of modern geoinformatics methods, specifically 3D modeling, in the reconstruction of the historical part of Chomutov, with a focus on the demolished Evangelical church on Farského Street. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the changes in the urban development during the post-war period and based on the acquired information, create a 3D model of the part of the city where these changes are noticeable. The thesis includes a literature review on the topic, as well as on the methods and possible technologies that can be used for 3D modeling. It also introduces the data used in the processing. The conclusion briefly presents the results. In the first phase of the work, archival materials such as old maps, aerial photographs, and postcards of the center of Chomutov are gathered. Based on these, the location and appearance of the original buildings on the street are determined. The next phase of the work focuses on possible methods that can be utilized for creating 3D models, such as photogrammetry or manual modeling. However, the main objective of the thesis is the actual 3D model of vanished or old buildings on Farského Street, Palackého Street, and Žižkovo Square in Chomutov, which was created based on old photographs and archival images. The modeling itself took place in SketchUp 2017. Subsequently, in Twinmotion, a video was created, which will serve as informational material for residents interested in the history of the city and the appearance of its buildings.
