The Problem of the Equivalence-oriented Approach in Translation of Literary Texts. The Translation of Annelies Verbeke's Stories Lola, Naar de toekomst and De Wezel en zijn prooi to Slovak.

Abstract:

Cílem mé diplomové práce je analýza dvou překladatelských teorií, a to teorie ekvivalence a teorie skoposu. V práci se zaměřím na to, jestli se tyto teorie dají využít při překladu, zejména literárního překladu. V druhé části mé diplomové práce pak analyzuji do jaké míry byly tyto dvě teorie použitelné pro můj překlad tří povídek od belgické autorky Annelies Verbeke: Lola, Naar de toekomst a De Wezel en zijn prooi.

Abstract:

The aim of my thesis is the analysis of two translation theories, namely the theory of equivalence and the theory of skopos. In the thesis I will focus on whether these theories can be used in translation, especially the literary translation. In the second part of my thesis I analyze to what extent these two theories were applicable to my translation of three short stories from the Belgian author Annelies Verbeke: Lola, Naar de toekomst and De Wezel en zijn prooi.
