The Boundaries of Cooperation in Social Work from the Perspective of the Involved Subjects

Abstract:

Cílem práce je zjistit, jaké zkušenosti mají sociální pracovníci a klienti s překračováním hranic intervence při spolupráci. První část práce má teoretický charakter a obsahuje teoretický koncept výzkumu, jehož metodika a interpretace utvářejí druhou, tedy empirickou část práce. Na problematiku hranic je v práci nahlíženo ve třech rovinách. První rovinou je hranice ve smyslu obecné praxe sociální práce jako oboru. Druhá rovina se týká ohraničení intervence, tedy konkrétní metody jak praxi sociální práce vykonávat. Třetí rovina představuje hranice ve smyslu vymezení vztahu sociálního pracovníka a klienta. Výzkum byl realizován prostřednictvím kvalitativní výzkumné strategie, za využití přístupu deduktivně kvalitativní analýzy. Data byla získána metodou polostrukturovaného hloubkového rozhovoru a následně zpracována otevřeným, axiálním a selektivním kódováním a analýzou negativních případů. Výsledkem výzkumu je ohraničení a sestavení typologie poskytování psychické podpory pracovníkem. Tato hranice je utvářena souladem s kompetencemi pracovní pozice a vlastními odbornými schopnostmi. Dále je v práci konstatován přínos a význam vzdělávání klientů sociální práce. Na základě výzkumu byl také vymezen pojem maska profesionála, který je pracovníky využíván jako nástroj k ohraničení vnitřního světa pracovníka a světa klienta. Dále výzkum odhaluje podstatu profesionálního vztahu mezi pracovníkem a klientem, která tkví ve vzájemné rovnocennosti a otevřeném dialogu, jako prostředku zajišťující motivaci klienta. Práce se také zabývá problematikou duálních vztahů a upozorňuje na výskyt online duálních vztahů přes internetové sociální sítě.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to analyze experience of social workers and clients with the crossing of boundaries of intervention during their mutual cooperation. The first part of thesis is theoretical and focuses on theoretical concepts of the research. Its methodology and interpretation forms the second part of the theses, i.e. the empirical part. The issue of boundaries is perceived in three dimensions. The first dimension is defined as a boundary in the sense of general social work practice as a discipline. The second dimension sees the boundary of intervention as particular methods of performing social work practice. The third dimension is the boundary of the relation between a social worker and a client. The research was conducted through qualitative research strategy, using deductive qualitative analysis. The data was obtained by the semi-structured in-depth interviews and then processed by an open, axial, and selective coding and negative-case analysis. As a result of the research, the boundary is set and a typology of providing psychological support by social worker is established. The boundary is formed by a compliance of work competencies and professional skills of each social worker. The study also stated benefits and importance of the educating clients of social work. On the basis of the research, the concept of the mask of professional used as a tool to make boundaries of the worker's inner world and the client's world is also defined. Additionally, the research reveals the nature of professional relationships between a worker and a client, which is established by mutual equality and an open dialogue, as a tool of safeguarding client´s motivation. The thesis also deals with the issue of dual relationships and draws attention to the occurrence of online dual relationships through internet social networks.
