Economic Models for Supporting Innovation within Public Policy

Anotace:

This thesis examines how three separate economic systems affect innovation through analyses of South Korean development together with Silicon Valley business dynamics along with the Nordic regions' approach. The strategies between these three examples exhibit separate model directions, which are state-led, market-driven, and collective. The research analyzes the performance of different economic models based on R&D investment, venture capital financing alongside patent registrations, and the strength of STEM professionals. The analysis reveals that perfect or universal best practices do not exist regarding innovation. These innovative systems function optimally when applied specifically to the conditions of South Korea’s centralized governance structure or Silicon Valley’s fast-paced startup culture as well as the Nordic countries shared and balanced approach. A proper combination between public backing of innovation alongside private enterprise generation and future-focused strategic planning enables the development of systems that combine productivity with sustainability and equality.
