The relationship between the Czech republic and Taiwan in the context of the People's republic of China

Abstract:

Diplomová práce pojednává o problematice vztahů mezi Českou republikou a Taiwanem a vlivu Čínské lidové republiky na Českou republiku. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do pěti kapitol. V první kapitole se věnuji Čínské lidové republice, jejíž vliv a chování na území ČR lze chápat jako jistou hrozbu. Další kapitola se věnuje pouze Taiwanu a představuje ucelený pohled na zemi. Dále se zaměřuji na jednotlivé vztahy mezi zmíněnými třemi zeměmi s přesahem v politické rovině a historickými událostmi 20. století, které pro ně byly v následujících letech důležité. Součástí práce jsou i ekonomické vazby. Poslední kapitola je zaměřena na cestu předsedy Senátu na Taiwan, konkrétně na její průběh a zda byly splněny jednotlivé vytyčené cíle cesty. Závěrem práce zmiňuji otázku přesahu návštěvy do současnosti a zpětně hodnotím její důležitost.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of relations between the Czech Republic and Taiwan and the influence of the People's Republic of China on the Czech Republic. The diploma thesis is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter I deal with the People's Republic of China, whose influence and behavior in the Czech Republic can be understood as a certain threat. The next chapter deals only with Taiwan and presents a comprehensive view of the country. I also focus on the individual relations between the three countries with political overlaps and historical events of the 20th century, which were important to them in the following years. The work also includes economic ties. The last chapter focuses on the Senate chair's trip to Taiwan, specifically on its course and whether the individual goals of the trip were met. At the end of the work I mention the issue of transcending the visit to the present and retrospectively assess its importance.
