German surnames in vanished villages in the Ore Mountains.
Abstract:
The bachelor thesis examines the meaning and origin of family names in four different villages. The theoretical part explains the characteristics of names, their significance for identity and social structures, as well as the development from call names to family names. The practical part describes the Ore Mountains and the villages and presents the results of the research.
Abstract:
Die Bachelorarbeit untersucht die Bedeutung und Herkunft von Familiennamen in vier verschiedenen Dörfern. Der theoretische Teil erklärt die Merkmale von Namen, ihre Bedeutung für Identität und soziale Strukturen, sowie die Entwicklung von Ruf- zu Familiennamen. Im praktischen Teil werden das Erzgebirge und die Dörfer beschrieben und die Ergebnisse der Forschung präsentiert.
