Soviet policy towards the developing world

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci se věnuji historickému tématu a to Sovětskému svazu a třetímu světu, speciálně Africe. Popisuji zde sovětskou zahraniční politiku na africkém kontinentě v průběhu studené války. V rámci popisu sovětské zahraniční politiky se nelze vyhnout ani popisu vlivu Spojených států amerických. V první části své práce se budu věnovat popisu mezinárodního systému vznikajícímu po druhé světové válce z pohledu SSSR a USA a jejich pohledu na dekolonizaci. Dále se budu věnovat popisu sovětské zahraniční politiky a sovětským aktivitám na africkém kontinentě. V další části své práce budu popisovat sovětskou zahraniční politiku v konkrétním africkém státě. Pro tuto studii jsem si vybrala Angolu. V případě Angoly můžeme vidět soupeření Sovětského svazu a USA a jejich vliv na vnitřní politiku státu.

Abstract:

In my Bachelor project I will pay attention to historical theme, Soviet union and third world especially Africa. I will describe Soviet foreign politics on African continet during Cold War. While doing research of Soviet foreign politics, there's need to take into account also United States stance as their foreign politics have influence on each other. In first part of this project I will describe new formation of states after World War II from Soviet and American view. In second part of this project I will provide study of Soviet foreign politics in particular African state from origin till decay of Soviet Union. For this example I choose Angola which was decolonized lately than most of the African states. In case of Angola we can see the influence of Soviet Union and also United States of America and their rivalry. I would like to answer the question on how Soviet foreign politic and Cold War can affect progression of developing country. In this case Angola. I pick African continent mainly because it has very little attention from the public, especially the history of it. And for big part of western world it's place full of conflicts, revolutions, poverty and illness.
