Abstract:

Práce se zabývá vývojem, kterým prošlo právní postavení žen mezi lety 1918 až 1938 v Československé republice. Vykresluje obraz prvorepublikových matek, manželek a vdov, žen vykonávajících různé profese, i žen páchajících trestnou činnost. V jednotlivých oblastech sleduje zákony a jejich novely, které přispěly ke změně společenských poměrů. Věnuje se rovněž diskuzím, které vydávání zákonů předcházely, zejména prezentuje názory Ženské národní rady, spolku, který si vytkl za cíl zavedení rovnoprávnosti, kterou zaručovala Ústava z roku 1920, do praxe

Abstract:

In my thesis I paid attention to particular aspects of women´s lives in the first Czechoslovac Republic (politics, family, work, criminality and conscription). I followed the changes of the laws that were made in each of them. I focused on the discussion in the National Assembly in which women politicians took part too. I was concerned with the activities of The Women National Council that was deeply interested in gender equality in the society. I drew the conclusion that the Czechoslovak society underwent significant development between the years 1918 and 1938. The traditional view of a woman as a man´s assistant only was slowly changing. Women were gradually involved in the public sector (in politics, in work). Nevertheless, it must be pointed out that their main role still was in the family
