Specifics of remote education of a pupil with a different first language during elementary school

Abstract:

V diplomové práci se zabýváme popisem specifik distančního vzdělávání žáka s odlišným mateřským jazykem na 1. stupni ZŠ. Nejprve teoreticky popisujeme oblast migrace a migrační politiky, následně se již zaměřujeme na vzdělávání žáka s odlišným mateřským jazykem, výuku češtiny jako druhého jazyka, a zvláště výuku v době distance. Následně se již v praktické části dostáváme k jádru práce, jež spočívá v analýze výzkumné sondy, kterou tvoří vyučující z různých základních škol, které ve své třídě žáka s OMJ mají a s nimiž byl proveden rozhovor, na základě kterého již popisujeme aspekty, které s online výukou souvisejí – srovnáváme je a vytváříme doporučení, která nám z tohoto zkoumání vyplynula.

Abstract:

The following master’s thesis deals with the specifics of remote education of a pupil with a different first language during elementary school. First, we theoretically describe the area of migration and migration policy, then we focus on the education of pupils with different first languages, teaching Czech as a second language, with a primary focus on remote teaching methods. In the second section we get to the heart of the work, which focuses on an analysis of research conducted by interviewing teachers from various primary schools who have pupils that are not native Czech speakers in their classes. Based on these conversations we make a careful examination of remote learning techniques utilised during the closure of schools due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, we compare and contrast the various methods used by the different educators in order to make recommendations for best practices for future remote education of non-native Czech speakers.
