Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá zkoumáním inscenace Smrt obchodního cestujícího z roku 1959 v Národním divadle v Praze. První kapitola práce je soustředěna na zkoumání konkrétního dramatického textu v souvislostech s vybranými dramaty Arthura Millera a autorovými úvahami o divadle. Následující část je věnována důležitým změnám, které na přelomu padesátých a šedesátých let vedly k uvolnění domácího společenského a kulturního prostředí. Pozornost je soustředěna na osobnosti působící v rámci činohry Národního divadla. Práce sleduje výraznou transformaci dramaturgie, která umožnila opětovné uvádění her západních dramatiků. Třetí kapitola práce se zabývá jednotlivými prvky inscenace. Snahou je především popsat přístup, postupy a výkony zainteresovaných umělců. Zvýšená pozornost je rovněž věnována dobovému tisku a interpretaci divadelního artefaktu.

Abstract:

The thesis examines the performance of Death of a Salesman in 1959 at The National Theatre in Prague. The first chapter of the work focuses on examining specific dramatic text in the context of selected dramas of Arthur Miller and author's reflections on the theatre. The following section is devoted to important changes that at the turn of fifties and sixties led to easing domestic social and cultural environment. Attention is paid to the personalities involved in The National Theatre. The work tracks a significant dramaturgy transformation, which enabled repeated staging of western playwrights' dramas. The third chapter of the work deals with particular elements of the production. The aim is primarily to describe the approach, procedures and performances of artists involved. Increased attention is also paid to the press and interpretation of the theatre artifact.
