Přemysl Otakar II. and the elected Roman-German rulers of the age of "the great interregnum"

Abstract:

Předložená bakalářská práce se zabývá vývojem vztahů mezi Přemyslem Otakarem II. a zvolenými římskoněmeckými panovníky doby "velkého interregna" a dopady, které dané vztahy měly na politické klima střední Evropy 13. století. Především poukazuje na propojenost vztahů českého krále s říšskými panovníky s jeho zahraniční politikou a ambicemi. Práce také rozebírá, jakým způsobem využíval Přemysl své vztahy s panovníky k protlačení svých cílů a k ovlivňování dění v Říši, ale také mimo ni.

Abstract:

Presented bachelor thesis deals with the development of relationships between Přemysl Otakar II and the elected Roman-German rulers of the age of "the great interregnum" and with the consequences which those relationships had for the political climate of central Europe in 13th century. Above all it points out the connectedness of the relationships of the bohemian king with imperial monarchs with his foreign policy and ambitions. The thesis also sheds light on the way Přemysl used his relationships with the monarchs to advance his goals and to influence the events happening in the Empire but also outside of it.
