Populism and Separation of Powers

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem „Populismus a dělba moci“ se v úvodu za-bývá nejdříve samotným vymezením obou pojmů. Posléze je práce za-měřena na analýzu vlivu populismu na dělbu moci, a to zejména v Maďarsku a Polsku, kde došlo k nejvýraznějším zásahům populistů do nezávislosti soudů. Pozornost je věnována také Slovensku a České republice. Autor se na tyto státy zaměřuje z důvodu aktuálního dění ve střední Evropě. Dochází zde totiž k ustavičným útokům populistických vůdců na jednotlivé komponenty dělbu moci.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis entitled "Populism and Separation of powers" deals first with the definition of both terms. The thesis then focuses on the analysis of the impact of populism on the separation of powers, especially in Hungary and Poland, where the most significant populist interventions into the independence of the judiciary have taken place. Attention is also paid to Slovakia and Czechia. The author focuses on these countries because of current events in Central Europe. There are constant attacks by populist leaders on the various components of the separation of powers.
