History and Construction of the Tenor horn and its Use in Practice

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce je poskytnout ucelený přehled o historii, konstrukci, výrobě a využití baskřídlovky v současnosti. Baskřídlovka je významný žesťový nástroj, který si vydobyl své místo v historii. První kapitola je věnována historickému kontextu a postupnému vývoji nástroje, jsou zde popsána různá technická řešení, která reagovala na dobové výzvy. Výsledky úsilí jsou reprezentované typy žesťových nástrojů. Pozornost je věnovaná také nástrojáři V. F. Červenému, který mnoho žesťových nástrojů sám vyvinul. Práce se zabývá i konkrétními technickými řešeními, která formovala podobu dnešních nástrojů. Zmíněné jsou i typy strojiva, která se u baskřídlovek používají. Druhá kapitola pojednává o kompletním výrobním procesu baskřídlovky. Jsou zde popsané charakteristiky materiálu, výroba menších i větších dílů baskřídlovky, metody výrobních postupů i jejich silné a slabé stránky. V navazující kapitole jsou uvedení významní výrobci žesťových nástrojů, u kterých jsou popsány různé modely nástroje a jejich konstrukční odlišnosti. V poslední, čtvrté kapitole jsou pak popsány různé způsoby využití baskřídlovky v současné době. Pozornost je věnovaná symfonickým a dechovým orchestrům i výuce na základních uměleckých školách.

Abstract:

The subject of this thesis is to provide a compact abstract about history, construction, production and an usage of tenor horn in a present. Tenor horn is an important brass instrument which has earned its place in a history. The first chapter is devoted to historical context and to a phased evolution of the instrument, there are described a various technical solutions which were created as reaction to chalanges of time periods. The results of these efforts are represented by the types of brass instruments. An attention is given also to instrument maker V. F. Červený who invented many types of brass instrument. The thesis is also occupied with concrete technical solutions which helped to form present form of instruments. There are mentioned also various types of machines which is used with tenor horn. The second chapter is about complete making process of tenor horn. There are described different materials, creating processes of smaller and bigger parts of a tenor horn, methods of making procedures and even their strong and weak aspects. In a following chapter there are mentioned important makers of brass instruments and where are decribed different models of instruments and their construction differences. In the last, fourth chapter there are specified various possibilities of usage of a tenor horn in a present. An attention is also given to a symphonic and wind orchestras and also to an education in music elementary schools.
