Mind maps and concept maps, their advantages in teaching

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se zabývá myšlenkovými mapami v jejich kontextu – od historického zázemí jejich vzniku přes objektivní podmínky počínaje fungováním mozku, přes druhy paměti, způsoby učení a roli potřeb (př. kreativita, analýza), až po jejich specifické ztvárnění. Ukáže jak vytvořit úspěšnou myšlenkovou mapu. Porovná myšlenkové mapy s mapami pojmovými a nakonec se zaměří na elektronické mapování. V praktické části práce je ukázáno, jak se mohou myšlenkové mapy uplatnit ve výuce.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with mind maps in their context – from the historical background of their establishment to start with through objective conditions to brain functioning, types of memory, methods of learning and role of needs (e.g. creativity, analysis) all the way up to their specific rendering. It also performs how to create a comprehensible and well-arranged map. It compares mind maps with concept ones and finally it focuses on electronic maps. In the practical part of the thesis it is shown how maps can be used in teaching.
