Bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá dvěma příklady interpretace minulosti, konkrétně v díle současného alžírského autora Boualema Sansala s názvem Němcova vesnice, nebo-li deník bratří Schillerů. Na úvod práce je představeno poslední "temné desetiletí" alžírské historie ve 20. století a život samotného autora i s tématy jeho knih, aby byla následná analýza díla zasazena v širším kontextu.
