Teacher as a Co-creator of the Classroom Climate in the Primary Schools

Abstract:

Cílem předkládané diplomové práce je popsat roli učitele jako spolutvůrce třídního klimatu na 1. stupni základní školy. Pozornost je soustředěna konkrétně na způsoby a postupy učitelů při tvorbě klimatu. V teoretické části jsou vymezená teoretická východiska ke školní třídě jako sociální skupině, školnímu klimatu jako psychosociální podmínce, a roli učitele. Východiskem jsou převážně odborná literatura a zahraniční studie, jež se zaměřují na utváření klimatu ve třídě. V praktické části je popsána cesta k získaným výsledkům. Na základě analýzy jsou identifikovány určité strategie učitelů, jejich postupy při utváření klimatu a způsoby jejich formování během vyučování. V závěru práce jsou uvedena doporučení pro pedagogickou praxi, která vyplývají z výzkumných zjištění. Jedná se o rady pro začínající učitele, tipy na činnosti pro podpoření spolupráce a další vhodné metody pro vytvoření příznivého třídního klimatu.

Abstract:

The aim of the presented diploma thesis is to describe the role of the teacher as a co-creator of the classroom climate in the 1st grade of elementary school. In doing so, we are looking for methods and procedures of teachers in creating the climate. In the theoretical part, the theoretical starting points for the school class as a social group, the school climate as a psychosocial condition and the role of the teacher are defined. We draw mainly from the specialised literature and foreign studies that focus on shaping the climate in the classroom. The practical part describes the way to the obtained results. From the analysis, we identified certain teacher strategies, their procedure in shaping the climate, and the ways of shaping the climate during teaching. At the end of the thesis, recommendations for pedagogical practice are presented, which result from the research findings. These recommendations offer advice for beginning teachers, activities to encourage collaboration, introduction of classroom lessons focused on classroom climate, and more.
