The susceptibility of secondary school students to stress and the possibility of prevention

Abstract:

Tato závěrečná práce se zabývá problematikou náchylnosti žáků ke stresu a identifi-kací faktorů, které mohou tuto náchylnost ovlivňovat. V první části práce je prove-dena rozsáhlá literární rešerše, zaměřená na psychologické aspekty stresu u žáků, jeho možné příčiny a dopady na jejich školní výkon a celkový duševní stav. Dále se věnuje také existujícím strategiím prevence stresu ve školním prostředí, s důrazem na pedagogické metody a programy podporující psychické zdraví žáků. Praktická část této práce se zaměřuje na aplikaci teoretických poznatků do kon-krétního školního kontextu. Pro sběr dat byl vytvořen dotazník, který byl distribuo-ván mezi žáky různých ročníků. Dotazník zkoumá jejich vnímání stresu, možné stre-sory ve škole a účinnost dosavadních preventivních opatření. Analytická část prak-tické části se zaměřuje na vyhodnocení získaných dat a identifikaci klíčových oblastí, ve kterých lze zlepšit podmínky pro snížení stresu u žáků. Výsledky studie poskytují cenné informace pro školní management, pedagogy a rodiče, aby mohli lépe porozumět specifickým potřebám žáků ve vztahu k psychic-kému zdraví a stresu. Závěry práce navrhují konkrétní kroky pro implementaci efek-tivních preventivních opatření a intervencí ve školním prostředí s cílem podporovat celkový duševní pohodu žáků a optimalizovat jejich školní výkon.

Abstract:

This final thesis deals with the issue of students' susceptibility to stress and the identification of factors that can influence this susceptibility. In the first part of the thesis, an extensive literature search is carried out, focused on the psychological aspects of stress in pupils, its possible causes and effects on their school perfor-mance and overall mental state. It also deals with existing stress prevention strate-gies in the school environment, with an emphasis on pedagogical methods and pro-grams supporting the psychological health of pupils. The practical part of this work focuses on the application of theoretical knowledge to a specific school context. A questionnaire was created for data collec-tion, which was distributed among students of different grades. The questionnaire examines their perception of stress, possible stressors at school and the effective-ness of existing preventive measures. The analytical part of the practical part focus-es on the evaluation of the obtained data and the identification of key areas in which the conditions for reducing stress among pupils can be improved. The results of the study provide valuable information for school management, educators and parents to better understand the specific needs of students in rela-tion to psychological health and stress. The conclusions of the work propose con-crete steps for the implementation of effective preventive measures and interven-tions in the school environment with the aim of supporting the overall mental well-being of pupils and optimizing their school performance.
