Employment of graduates of Arts management in the labor market

Abstract:

Diplomová práce zkoumá oblast arts managementu a trh práce kulturních a kreativních průmyslů. Teoretická část shrnuje dosavadní dostupnou literaturu a statistické poznatky o arts managementu, o historii jeho vzniku a o kulturní a kreativní sféře se zaměřením na pracovní trh. Následná praktická část pak verifikuje a rozšiřuje literární rešerši o výzkum uplatnění absolventů Arts managementu, unikátního oboru, který spojuje umění a ekonomii a je vyučován na Vysoké škole ekonomické v Praze. V rámci této části diplomové práce došlo k použití smíšené výzkumné strategie pomocí kvalitativního a kvantitativního dotazníkového šetření, kdy byl pro účely výzkumu zvolen výběrový soubor absolventů tohoto oboru z let 2015-2020. Hlavním cílem výzkumu je rozšíření znalostí ohledně současného pracovního uplatnění absolventů Arts managementu, zjištění celkové spokojenosti s vybraným oborem a přínosem studia pro zaměstnání, vymezení konkurence tohoto oboru a také zobrazení kvantitativních dat pomocí grafů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis examines the field of arts management and the labor market of cultural and creative industries. The theoretical part summarizes the current literature and statistical knowledge about arts management, the history of its origin and the cultural and creative sphere with a focus on the labor market. Subsequently, the practical part verifies and expands the literature research with the main focus on employment of graduates of Arts Management, a unique field that combines art and economics and is taught at the University of Economics in Prague. In the practical part, a mixed research strategy was used applying a qualitative and quantitative questionnaire survey, where a sample of graduates of Arts management from 2015-2020 was selected for research purposes. The main goal of this research is to expand knowledge about the current employment of Arts Management graduates, explore overall satisfaction and contribution of this selected study to the work life, to define the competition in this field and also to display quantitative data using graphs.
