The Mausoleum of Santa Costanza and its Decorations
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá významnou památkou raně křesťanského umění, Mauzoleem svaté Konstancie v Římě, dnes známým jako Kostel Santa Costanza. Následující strany představí tuto stavbu v kontextu doby její výstavby, přičemž věnují pozornost všem otázkám týkajícím se jak její přesné funkce, datace, ale především zčásti dochované mozaikové výzdoby.
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis deals with an outstanding monument of early Christian times, the Mausoleum of Constantina, nowadays known as the Church of Santa Costanza. The following pages introduce the building in the context of its construction, while paying attention to all issues concerning both the exact function of the building, its dating, and especially the partially preserved mosaic decoration.
