Specification of social work in solving the social situation of miners in the Ostrava-Karviná district in the years 1945-1990

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je zpracování deskripce a analýzy řešení sociální situace horníků v ostravsko-karvinském regionu v letech 1945-1990. Práce má přinést odpovědi na otázky ohledně fungování sociální práce v rámci podniku OKD, konkrétních nástrojů, oblastí a priorit, které byly pro danou epochu charakteristické. Dílčím cílem je deskripce postavení horníků a jejich rodin ve společnosti. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí. V první části je zpracována metodologie výzkumu. Část druhá zahrnuje tři kapitoly rozdělené do časových úseků, a to období let 1945-1948, 1949-1960 a 1961-1990. Pozornost je věnována vývoji v regionu, aktérům, kteří se na sociální péči podíleli a jednotlivým oblastem sociální práce. Na závěr je popsán vliv sociální politiky na životy rodin horníků. Poslední část práce je věnována evaluaci výzkumu. Výsledným zjištěním je, že sociální práce v rámci OKD společně s nástroji sociální politiky v Československu měly pozitivní vliv na životní úroveň horníků a jejich rodin a na jejich postavení ve společnosti.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to elaborate a description and analysis of the social situation of miners in the Ostrava-Karviná region in the years 1945-1990. The thesis aims to provide answers to questions about the functioning of social work in the OKD enterprise, specific tools, areas and priorities that were characteristic for the given era. A partial aim is to describe the position of miners and their families in society. The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part the methodology of the research is elaborated. The second part includes three chapters divided into time periods, namely the years 1945-1948, 1949-1960 and 1961-1990. The focus is on developments in the region, the actors involved in social work and the different areas of social work. Finally, attention is always focused on the impact of social policy on the lives of miners' families. The last part of the thesis is dedicated to the evaluation of the research. The results show that social work within OKD, together with social policy instruments in Czechoslovakia, had a positive impact on the living standards of miners and their families and on their position in society.
