The success of artificial regeneration and the prospects of succession utilization in the Babylon calamity clearing (LS Černá Hora)

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bylo zhodnotit úspěšnost obnovy na zájmové lokalitě Babylon. Zájmové území spadá do PLO 30 Drahanská vrchovina s převažujícím SLT 4K. Jedná se o revír, kterým probíhá rozsáhlá kůrovcová kalamita. Vrcholem kalamity je rok 2020, poslední roky výše těžeb klesá. Hodnocena byla umělá obnova, jak po stránce biologické, tak po stránce ekonomické. Umělá obnova, z hlediska biologického byla zvolena vhodně až na dřeviny smrk a třešeň. Z ekonomického hlediska je nejlevnější využití obnovy borovice a dubu přepočteno na kusy. Dále byla zkoumána spontánní přirozená obnova a její výskyt na zájmovém území. V přirozené obnově na zájmovém území dominuje modřín, který zde vytváří souvislý porost o velikosti 1,95 ha. Limitujícími faktory pro výskyt přirozené obnovy na zájmovém území jsou sklon svahu a jeho expozice a také přítomnost mateřského porostu – semenných stromů.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the success of the restoration at the Babylon site of interest. The area of interest falls within PLO 30 Drahanská vrchovina with predominant SLT 4K. It is a district with extensive bark beetle calamity. The peak of the calamity is in 2020, and in recent years the amount of harvesting has been decreasing. Artificial regeneration has been evaluated, both biologically and economically. Artificial regeneration, from a biological point of view, was chosen appropriately except for spruce and cherry. From an economic point of view, the cheapest use of regeneration is pine and oak on a per unit basis. Spontaneous natural regeneration and its occurrence in the area of interest were also investigated. The natural regeneration in the area of interest is dominated by larch, which forms a continuous stand of 1.95 ha. The limiting factors for the occurrence of natural regeneration in the area of interest are the slope gradient and its exposure, as well as the presence of the parent stand – seed trees.
