The Usage of Fingerprint Identification in Criminalistic Practice

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is dedicated to the cognition of the ancient, yet still significant and frequently used method- fingerprint identification. The initial pages discuss its origins, genesis as well as the basic concepts on the topic of fingerprint identification. The following section is concentrated on the crucial topic of fingerprint traces, in particular the thesis shall depict their origin, occurrence, search, subsequent provision for the usage and in conclusion their interconnection with the criminalistics practice. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on personal identification, registration systems and criminalistics identification itself, without omitting the criminalistics fingerprint expertise. The thesis also aims to link the fingerprint identification with the current legislation and case law. The final part of the thesis will try to give an interpretation of the future of fingerprint identification and its absence of context with the new and still expanding knowledge in the field of criminal genetics and biometrics.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa venuje poznávaniu starodávnej, ale dodnes významnej a využívanej kriminalistickej metóde- daktyloskopii. V úvodných stranách približuje jej počiatky, históriu a základné pojmy. Nasledujúca kľúčová časť sa zameriava na daktyloskopické stopy, predovšetkým predstavuje ich vznik, výskyt, vyhľadávanie a zaisťovanie s prelínaním sa s kriminalistickou praxou. Ďalej sa venuje daktyloskopovaniu osôb, registračným systémom a samotnej kriminalistickej identifikácii, pričom neopomína kriminalistickú daktyloskopickú expertízu. V neposlednom rade sa práca zameriava na prepojenie daktyloskopie s právnou úpravou, pričom nedielnou súčasťou je i judikatúra. K záveru práce sa pozornosť otáča k budúcnosti daktyloskopie a jej nedostatkom v súvislosti s novými a stále sa rozširujúcimi poznatkami v oblasti kriminálnej genetiky.
