Abstract:

Témou tejto práce je navrhnúť, implementovať a otestovať sadu nástrojov, s cieľom zlepšiť vytváranie, údržbu a použiteľnosť systému pre asistovanú konfiguráciu produktu firmy Flowmon Networks. Flowmon ponúka zákazníkom možnosť monitorovania ich sietí s použitím sieťových tokov, a následnú vizualizáciu nameraných dát v rôznych podobách. Avšak, nastavenie efektívneho monitorovacieho prostredia môže byť náročné aj pre skúsených sieťových inžinierov. Vytváranie vizualizačných prvkov obnáša nielen expertnú znalosť sieťových protokolov, ale napríklad aj vedomosť o používaných IP adresách serverov ponúkajúcich SaaS služby. Pre uľahčenie tohto procesu, Flowmon ponúka zákazníkom prednastavené prvky v podobe šablón. Cieľom tejto práce je zlepšiť aktuálny stav systému šablón, uľahčiť prácu Flowmon inžinierov a zlepšiť použiteľnosť pre zákazníkov. Výsledom je päť navrhnutých, implementovaných a otestovaných nástrojov, ktoré prinášajú významnú hodnotu a sú pripravené na zakomponovanie do Flowmon produktu.

Abstract:

The topic of this thesis is to propose, implement and test a set of tools that aim to improve the workflow, management, and usability of the assisted configuration system within the Flowmon Networks solution. Flowmon Networks is a company that provides customers with the ability to monitor and analyze the data in their network using flow monitoring and then visualize it in various ways. However, the setting up of an effective monitoring environment may be challenging even for skilled network engineers. Creating the visualizations requires the knowledge of various network protocols and also, for example, the information about the IP addresses of the servers of different SaaS applications. To make the process easier for customers, Flowmon offers pre-made configurations called presets. This thesis aims to improve the current preset system by making the work more streamlined for the Flowmon engineers and more user-friendly for the customers. The result is five proposed, implemented, and tested tools that bring meaningful value and are ready to be incorporated into the Flowmon solution.
