The Way to Mastery: Prize Award for Small Handicraftsmen According to the Methodology of the National Institute of Folk Culture (NÚLK)

Abstract:

Práce vycházející z vlastního kvalitativního terénního výzkumu autorky se zabývá teoretickými a legislativními aspekty oceňování drobných rukodělných řemeslníků v České republice tituly Mistr tradiční rukodělné výroby a Nositel tradice lidových řemesel, tématem identifikace a dokumentace nehmotného kulturního dědictví a zejména vlivu povahy výrobku, tj. jeho schopnosti absolvovat úspěšně přeměnu z předmětu denní potřeby na ceněný kulturní artefakt a muzejní exponát, na možnost či nemožnost výrobce dojít oficiálního ocenění.

Abstract:

This Thesis, which is based on the qualitative field research of its author, deals with the theoretical and legislative aspects of "Master of Traditional Handicraft" and "Folklore Tradition Bearer" prize awards to small handicraftsmen in the Czech Republic; further, it explores the topic of identification and documenting of intangible cultural heritage and especially the impact of the character of the product, i.e. its ability to successfully undergo the transition from an article of daily use to a valued cultural artefact and museum exhibit, to the possibility or impossibility of its producer to achieve an official award.
