Drought as a safety risk in the region

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou sucha v souvislosti se změnou klimatu na území jižní Moravy. V posledních desetiletích se zde projevuje zvýšená teplota vzduchu a současně stagnace srážek, což vede k častějšímu výskytu sucha. Výskyt sucha sebou přináší další bezpečnostní hrozby jako jsou požáry a povodně. V důsledku sucha a dalších extrémních jevů počasí tak dochází ke zvýšení zranitelnosti území, což má negativní dopad na systém a životní prostředí. Tento trend bude s největší pravděpodobností nadále pokračovat, což znamená, že bude třeba přijímat adaptační opatření s cílem snížení negativních dopadů klimatické změny. V analytické části práce byl srovnán vývoj hlavních klimatických charakteristik průměrné teploty vzduchu a srážkových úhrnů. Zkoumaná oblast byla rozdělena do 7 okresů. Na základě komparace dat bylo možné určit potenciálně nejohroženější oblasti zájmového území. Následně byla provedena analýza rizik pro identifikaci hrozeb území. Návrh adaptačních opatření se zaměřuje na snížení rizika těchto hrozeb dle jednotlivých oblastí.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of drought in the context of climate change in South Moravia. In recent decades, there has been an increase in air temperature and stagnation of precipitation, which leads to more frequent occurrences of drought. The occurrence of drought brings with it additional security threats such as fires and floods. As a result of drought and other extreme weather events, the vulnerability of the territory increases, which has a negative impact on the system and the environment. This trend is likely to continue, which means that adaptation measures will need to be taken to reduce the negative impacts of climate change. In the analytical part of the work, the evolution of the main climatic characteristics of average air temperature and precipitation was compared. The study area was divided into 7 districts. On the basis of data comparison it was possible to identify the potentially most vulnerable areas of the area of interest. Subsequently, a risk analysis was performed to identify the threats to the area. The design of adaptation measures focuses on reducing the risk of these threats according to each area.
