The way advocate Guerrieri speak: how the legal language becomes language for the general public

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the legal language in current Italian. The theoretical part explains the issue of professional languages with a focus on the legal language which is described from its evolution, through formulation of wordwhose to syntax. Subsequently, the second part introduces the Italian writer Gianrico Carofiglio through whose book "La regola dell’equilibrio" the author of the thesis analyzes the legal language in order to find out how to make it understandable to the general public through appropriate choice of words. For the better comprehension of the legal language, it is necessary to simplify it. This can be achieved, for example, by the use of unambiguous words instead of pseudotechnical expressions, or by the use of simple conjunctions instead of compound conjunctions. It is also recommended eliminating redundant use of adjectives and adapt grammar and syntax to the type of text.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá právnickým jazykem v současné italštině. Teoretická část vysvětluje problematiku odborných jazyků se zaměřením na jazyk právnický, který je v práci popsán od jeho evoluce, přes tvoření slov až k syntaxi. Následně je v druhé části představen italský spisovatel Gianrico Carofiglio, prostřednictvím jehož knihy "La regola dell'equilibrio", autor práce analyzuje právnický jazyk s cílem zjistit, jak ho prostřednictvím vhodné volby slov učinit srozumitelným laické veřejnosti. K lepšímu pochopení právnického jazyka je nezbytné jeho zjednodušení, které vychází například z používání jednoznačných slov namísto pseudotechnických výrazů nebo ve využití jednoduchých spojek namísto spojek složených. Je doporučeno zároveň eliminovat nadbytečné užívání přídavných jmén a přizpůsobit gramatiku a syntax typu textu.
