How graduates of the FEA MU succeed in the labor market

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá uplatněním absolventů Ekonomicko-správní fakulty Masarykovy univerzity na trhu práce. Cílem této práce je zjistit, co má vliv na nalezení práce absolventů ESF na trhu práce a co ovlivňuje výši jejich nástupního platu. Nejprve je v teoretické části objasněn význam lidského kapitálu. Jsou zde představeny vlivy, které působí na lidský kapitál, jak ho můžeme měřit a podobně. Dále je zde představeno studium na ESF, jednotlivé stupně vzdělání, úroveň vzdělání cizích jazyků, jednotlivé katedry na ESF a nástupní platy absolventů. Praktická část využívá ekonometrických modelů s cílem nalézt faktory, které ovlivňují, zda absolvent našel nebo nenašel zaměstnání a které faktory a jak ovlivní výši nástupního platu absolventů. Zjištěné výsledky a jejich dopady jsou diskutovány v závěru práce.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis focuses on Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University students’ integration into the labor market. The thesis aims to find out what factors influence graduates’ employment finding opportunities and what factors determine their starting salary. The theoretical part deals mainly with human capital in general. It points out the factors influencing human capital, explains the ways of measuring it and concentrates on types of education of the population. The theoretical part also describes the studies at Faculty of Economics and Administration, particular levels of education, foreign languages teaching quality, constituent departments of the Faculty and the starting salaries of its graduates. The practical part uses econometric models to find out what factors are responsible for the graduates’ success or failure in finding employment and what factors influence the height of their starting salary. The results and their implications are discussed in the conclusion.
