Fictional worlds and virtuality of LARP

Abstract:

Práce aplikuje literárněvědnou metodiku zkoumání (naratologii a teorii fikce) na fenomén larpu. V první části specifikuje vývojové a typologické aspekty larpu a seznamuje s teorií her Johana Huzingy a Rogera Cailloise. Zároveň předestírá hlavní teze larpových teoretiků Pavla Gottharda a Ondřeje Netíka. Literárně-vědnou metodiku následně čerpá primárně od Seymoura Chatmana a Marie-Laure Ryanové. Práce se zabývá narativitou, fikcionalitou a virtualitou komorního larpu a nutně tedy akcentuje jeho interaktivní a performativní podstatu. Na základě prezentovaných úvah je pak analyzován komorní larp Moon.

Abstract:

The thesis applies the methodology of literary criticism (narratology and fiction theory) to larp phenomenon. The first part specifies evolutional and typological aspects of larp and introduces the theory of games of Johan Huzinga and Roger Caillois. At the same time it suggests the main thesis of larp theoreticians Pavel Gotthard and Ondřej Netík. The methodology of literary criticism is successively derived primarily from Seymour Chatman and Marie-Laure Ryan. The thesis deals with narrativity, fictionality and virtuality of chamber larp and perforce accents its interactive and performative nature. On the basis of presented reflections the chamber larp Moon is analysed.
