Online Marketing and Advertising in Gaming Industry

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se soustředí na téma internetový marketing, reklama a reklamní kampaň. Charakteristika internetového marketingu je zpracována z různých úhlů pohledu a komunikovaná sdělení jsou rozdělena do jednotlivých specifických kategorií. Diplomová práce zpracovává otázku propagace na hlavních herních portálech a souvisejících herních klientech. Důraz je kladen na problematiku herních předmětů, herních rozšíření a herních serverů. Cílem diplomové práce je, s využitím studia dostupných odborných zdrojů na základě metody analýzy, charakterizovat současný stav online reklamy v herním průmyslu, zhodnotit takovou reklamní komunikaci, navrhnout možnosti jejího zlepšení a objasnit vliv reklamní komunikace na hráče samotné. Dalším cílem práce je shrnutí problematiky související s herními portály, jejich herními klienty a vysvětlení hranice mezi různými herními doplňky. Úvodní část diplomové práce se zabývá především komplexním shrnutím teoretických poznatků o reklamě a internetovém marketingu. Prostřední část práce popisuje marketing na trhu herního průmyslu, mainstreamové herní portály a problematiku herní propagace, herních přídavků a souvisejících herních serverů. Závěrečnou část tvoří výzkumná sonda zaměřená na chování aktivních hráčů, na zkoumání jejich postojů a názorů ke specifické herní problematice. Diplomová práce využívá metody situační analýzy, komparační analýzy, pozorování a nestandardizovaných rozhovorů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on Internet marketing, advertising and advertising campaign. The characteristics of internet marketing are carried out from different points of view. Communicated messages are split into various specific categories. The diploma thesis then deals with promotion on main game portals and game clients. Great emphasis is put on game items, game upgrades and related game servers. The main objective of this study is, based on professional resources availability, to describe the current status of online advertising in the game industry, to evaluate advertising communication, to suggest some major improvements and to clarify the impact on game players themselves. Another objective hereof aims to summarize the issues connected with game portals, game clients and to set and clarify the limits between different game additionals. The introduction of the diploma thesis summarizes in detail the theoretical facts about advertising and Internet marketing. The middle part hereof focuses on the game industry marketing, mainstream game portals, game advertising, game upgrades and associated game servers. The final section of the diploma thesis presents the research in the area of game players behavior, their opinions and attitudes towards specific gaming problems. The study makes use of situational analysis, benchmarking, observation and interview techniques.
