Calculations of pNMR parameters on molecular and supramolecular Ru(III) complexes

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá popisem hyperjemného příspěvku k NMR posunu v paramagnetických molekulách a supramolekulách. V první části se věnuje výpočtu NMR posunů a jejich interpretaci pro sloučeniny ruthenia KP typu, [4-R-pyH]+trans-[RuIIICl4(4-R-py)]-, kde 4-R-py je para substituovaný pyridin. Pozornost je zaměřena zejména na analýzu A konstant hyperjemného štěpení, zvláště Fermi-kontaktního a spin-dipolárního termu, které jsou pak použity k výpočtu hyperjemného 1H a 13C NMR posunu. V druhé části práce je zkoumána supramolekula, tedy interakce host-hostitel mezi Ru(III) hostem a makrocyklickým hostitelem (βCD). Tady je hlavní pozornost věnována spin-dipolárnímu příspěvku, který charakterizuje magnetický vliv hosta na NMR rezonance hostitele přes prostor a umožňuje tak získat detailní informace o supramolekulárním uspořádání. Teoretická data byla získána za pomocí relativistických DFT výpočtů a následně porovnána s výsledky experimentálních měření.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the description of hyperfine contribution to NMR shift in paramagnetic molecules and supramolecules. The first part is focused on the NMR shift calculation and its interpretation for KP type ruthenium compounds, [4-R-pyH]+trans-[RuIIICl4(4-R-py)]-, where 4-R-py stands for para substituted pyridine. The attention is paid to the analysis of hyperfine coupling constants, specifically Fermi-contact and spin-dipolar term, which are then used to calculate the hyperfine 1H and 13C NMR shift. In the second part, the supramolecule, read host-guest interaction between Ru(III) guest and macrocyclic host (βCD), is studied. Here, the main attention is paid to the spin-dipolar contribution, which characterizes the magnetic through-space influence of a guest on the NMR resonances of host, and thus enables to obtain detailed information about the supramolecular arrangement. Theoretical data were obtained using relativistic DFT calculations and subsequently compared with experimental measurements.
