Education of adult foreigners living in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Záměrem této bakalářská práce je nastínit problematiku edukace dospělých cizinců žijících na území České republiky. Tato bakalářská práce má teoreticko-empirický charakter a dělí se na dvě části. První, teoretická část této bakalářské práce se dělí na tři kapitoly, které se soustředí na tři hlavní témata. Prvním tématem jsou obecná východiska tématu této práce. Druhým zde představeným tématem je edukace dospělých cizinců, kteří žijí na území České republiky. Třetím tématem této práce je vzdělávání dospělých cizinců. To má v této práci zejména podobu jazykového vzdělávání a vysokoškolského a vyššího odborného vzdělávání. Vzdělávání cizinců je však realizováno i prostřednictvím profesní kvalifikace či rekvalifikace. A vedle profesního vzdělávání se mnozí cizinci účastní i takových edukačních programů, které jim napomáhají v jejich kulturní a sociální integraci do české společnosti. Druhá část této bakalářské práce má empirický charakter a dělí se na dvě kapitoly. První z těchto kapitol se zabývá metodologií průzkumu, jehož cílem je zjistit, jaký typ edukace cizinci žijící v České republice akcentují. Tato kapitola popisuje i průzkumný problém, specifikuje cíl průzkumu, představuje průzkumný soubor i design průzkumu. Její součástí je i popis metod, které byly použity pro sběr průzkumných dat, je zde uveden způsob analýzy průzkumných dat i způsob jejich interpretace; a není zde opomenuta ani etika realizovaného průzkumu. Druhá kapitola druhé, empirické části této bakalářské práce, nabízí interpretaci průzkumných dat. Hlavním nástrojem sběru dat jsou v daném průzkumu polostrukturované rozhovory. Pět otázek z těchto rozhovorů je sociodemografického charakteru. Na základě komparace odpovědí na další otázky stanovila autorka této práce a průzkumník v jedné osobě, devět průzkumných témat. Jedná se o témata: Edukační východisko profesního uplatnění, uplatnění na trhu práce, účast na vzdělávání, jazyková edukace, kulturní edukace, bariéry ve vzdělávání, zájem o profesní vzdělávání, zájem o rozšíření kvalifikace a gender ve vzdělávání. Výsledky vlastního průzkumu byly následně diskutovány s daty odborníků. Odpovědi respondentů ukázaly, že cizinci žijící v ČR mají největší zájem o profesní vzdělávání. Na základě dat získaných daným průzkumem autorka této práce v jejím závěru zpracovala i doporučení pro edukační praxi.

Abstract:

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to outline the issue of the education of foreigners living in the Czech republic. This bachelor thesis has theoretical-empirical character and is divided in two parts. The first part covers the theoretical content of this thesis, elaborated in three chapters. The first chapter provides the general outcomes of the topic chosen for this thesis. The education of adult foreigners living in the Czech republic is part of the second chapter. The third chapter of this thesis explain a specific forms of the education of adult foreigners such as language education and higher and higher vocational education. However, the education of adults has also a form of a job qualification or retraining. The last mentioned form is the education program which helps the foreigners with their cultural and social integration into the society, as many of the foreigners attend these programs. The second part of this bachelor thesis has an empiric character and is divided in two chapters. The first of this chapters concentrates on the methodology of the survey. The goal of this survey is to gather an information such as which type of education the adult foreigners emphasize. This chapter describes the survey problem, specifies the goal of the survey, introduces the survey file as also the design of the survey. The description of the method used to collect the survey data, the data survey analysis and survey data interpretation are also a part of this chapter. Either is the ethic of the completed survey. The second chapter of the second part of this bachelor thesis, offers an interpretation of the survey data. The main tool chosen for the data collection is semistructured interview. First five questions of the interview have a sociodemografic character. The author of this thesis has determined nine survey topics as a result of comparation of the answers for the other nine questions involved in the interview. Those topics are: Educational outcome of work assertion, fulfilment of potential in labor market, participation in education, language education, cultural education, the educational barriers, the interest in education for work fulfilment, the interest in extension of qualification and gender in the education. The outcomes of this survey were afterwards compared with the experts data. The answers of the interviewed foreigners has shown that adult foreigners living in the Czech republic shows the biggest interest in education for work fulfilment. Taking the data gained during the survey, the author of this bachelor thesis has provided at the end of the bachelor thesis the educational recommendation.
