Methodology of the clinical practice guidelines development for the care of patients with rheumatoid arthritis in the context of COVID-19

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou klinických doporučených postupů pro autoimunitní onemocnění revmatoidní artritida v kontextu onemocnění COVID-19. V teoretické části jsou popsány charakteristické rysy obou onemocnění a jejich vzájemných interferencí. Popisuje se zde tvorba klinických doporučených postupů. Byla položena výzkumná otázka „Jaké parametry, dle standardizovaného nástroje RIGHT checklistu, splňují doporučené postupy pro péči o pacienty s revmatoidní artritidou v kontextu onemocnění COVID-19?“. V praktické části jsou uvedeny výsledky vyhledávání v „The eCOVID-19 living recommendations map and gateway to contextualisation“ (Živá mapa doporučení o COVID-19 a brána ke kontextualizaci, dále jako „RecMap“, https://covid19.recmap.org/) pro relevantní doporučení týkající se revmatoidní artritidy v kontextu onemocnění COVID-19. Byla provedena identifikace klinických doporučených postupů, odkud nalezená doporučení pochází a následně jejich zhodnocení dle RIGHT checklistu. RIGHT checklist je standardizovaný nástroj, který pomáhá posoudit a zlepšit proces tvorby klinických doporučených postupů. Výsledkem bylo zjištění, do jaké míry je proces tvorby nalezených doporučených postupů popsán v souladu s položkami RIGHT checklistu a shrnutí praktických doporučení pro využití u pacientů s revmatoidní artritidou v kontextu onemocnění COVID-19.

Abstract:

The thesis addresses the issue of clinical practice guidelines for the autoimmune disease rheumatoid arthritis within the context of COVID-19. The theoretical part describes the characteristic features of both diseases and their mutual interferences, with a focus on the development of clinical guidelines. The research question was posed as follows: "Which parameters, according to the standardized RIGHT checklist tool, meet the clinical practice guidelines for COVID-19 containing recommendations for patients with rheumatoid arthritis?" In the practical part, the results of the search in "The eCOVID-19 living recommendations map and gateway to contextualisation" (referred to as "RecMap," available at https://covid19.recmap.org) for relevant recommendations related to rheumatoid arthritis in the context of COVID-19 are presented. Identification of clinically recommended interventions, the source clinical practice guideline of the found recommendations, and their evaluation according to the RIGHT checklist were performed. The RIGHT checklist is a standardized tool used to assess and improve the process of developing clinical practice guidelines. The findings reveal the extent to which the process of creating the identified clinical practice guidelines is described in accordance with the items on the RIGHT checklist. Practical recommendations for use in patients with rheumatoid arthritis in the context of COVID-19 are summarized based on the results.
