Parish Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Holešov

Abstract:

Práce pojednává na základě dostupných archivních materiálů a technické prohlídky stavby o pravděpodobném průběhu výstavby farního kostela Nanebevzetí Panny Marie v Holešově. Výstavbu barokního chrámu se pokouší zařadit do kontextu dějin města Holešova, především ale usiluje o propojení výstavby s hraběcím rodem Rottalů, jehož členům ve druhé polovině 17. a první polovině 18. století holešovské panství patřilo. Pozornost je tedy věnována především současné podobě chrámu, pravděpodobnému průběhu jeho výstavby a odkazům k vládnoucímu rodu Rottalů, jež jsou explicitně zakomponovány do architektury stavby. Diskutováno je rovněž autorství stavby, jež bylo dosud jednoznačně připisováno italskému architektu Filibertu Luchese.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on construction of the parish church of Assumption of Virgin Mary in Holešov, based mostly on available archive materials and technical investigations of the church. Building of baroque church is given into context with the history of the town Holešov and house of Rottal, whose members used to be owners of the Holešov manor since 1650s until 1750s. Author pays attention mostly to the today form of the church, supposed process of building and also to the links to the house of Rottal, that are incorporated into the architecture of the building. There is also discussed authorship of the plans for building, which used to be certainly ascribed to Italian architect Filiberto Luchese.
