Evaluation of self-sufficiency in patients after total endoprosthesis knee and hip

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá aloplastikou kyčelního a kolenního kloubu a jejím vlivem na soběstačnost pacienta. Teoretická část je zaměřená na anatomii kyčelního a kolenního kloubu, artrózu a její příznaky, příčiny, léčbu a prevenci. Dále popisuje aloplastiku kyčelního a kolenního kloubu, předoperační a pooperační péči. Zaměřila jsem se na správnou rehabilitaci, protože ta je pro zlepšení soběstačnosti velmi důležitá a pokud je provedena omezeně nebo špatně, je velkou pravděpodobností, že se úroveň soběstačnosti nezlepší podle očekávání pacienta. Nedílnou součástí je edukace pacienta, která musí probíhat neustále, aby došlo k pevnému vštípení a porozumění problematiky. Zjistila jsem, že po 3 měsících od operace došlo u nadpoloviční většiny respondentů ke zlepšení jejich soběstačnosti. Po vyhodnocení dotazníku jsem se dozvěděla, že nadpoloviční většina dotazovaných trpí nadváhou až obezitou. Průměrná bolest po operaci se snížila, což značí zlepšení soběstačnosti a spokojenosti pacientů. Na základě zjištěných informací jsem vytvořila edukační materiál, který informuje pacienty, jak zvládat každodenní úkony bez nebo s menší bolestí.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with hip and knee joint athroplasty and its influence on patient self-sufficiency. The theoretical part is focused on the anatomy of the hip and knee joint, arthritis and its symptoms, causes, treatment and prevention. It also describes the hip and knee arthroplasty, preoperative and postoperative care. I focused on the proper rehabilitation, because it is very important to improve self-sufficiency and if it is implemented in a limited or wrong way, it is likely that the level of self-sufficiency does not improve as patient expected. An integral part is the patient oriented education, which must be ongoing in order to instilling and understanding of the issues. I found that 3 months after surgery improvement of their self-sufficiency occurred in more than half of the respondents. After the evaluation questionnaire, I figured out that more than half of respondents are overweight or even obese. Average soreness after the surgery decreased, which indicates the self-sufficiency and patient satisfaction improvement. Based on collected information educational material was created and it informs patients how to cope with everyday tasks without or with less pain.
