Abstract:
Cílem této práce je srovnání řeckého básníka Konstantina Kavafise s anglickým spisovatelem Lawrencem Durrellem, jejichž dílo je ovlivněno prostorem egyptské Alexandrie. Součástí práce je stručná historie Alexandrie, analýza vybraných Kavafisových básní a jejich srovnání s Durrellovými překlady.
Abstract:
This thesis aims to compare between the greek poet Constantine Cavafy and the english writer Lawrence Durrell, as the works of both are influenced by Egyptian Alexandria. The thesis contains brief history of Alexandria, analysis of selected poems by Cavafy and their comparison to Durrell´s translations.
