IoT and its benefits and challenges for use in Smart Cities

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje internetu věcí a jeho využití v konceptu chytrých měst. V práci jsou identifikovány klíčové prvky internetu věcí pro nasazení do měst společně s konkrétními způsoby nasazení v předem identifikovaných oblastech chytrých měst. Právě na těchto konkrétních případech jsou demonstrovány výhody a přínosy nasazení internetu věcí do měst, ze kterých se, i díky IoT, stávají města chytrá. V práci jsou tato chytrá města a jejich oblasti charakterizovány a v neposlední řadě, v praktické části práce, je do této problematiky vnesen názor českých odborníků na chytrá města a chytré regiony.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the Internet of Things and its use in the concept of smart cities. The thesis identifies key elements of IoT for deployment in cities along with specific deployment methods in pre-identified smart city areas. It is through these specific cases that the advantages and benefits of deploying IoT in cities that are becoming Smart cities, thanks to IoT elements that are demonstrated in this thesis. In the thesis, these smart cities and their areas are characterized and in the practical part of the thesis, the opinion of Czech experts on smart cities and smart regions is brought into this issue.
