Romantic relationship from perspective of women in young adulthood

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to better understand how women in young adulthood, who had never experienced a serious heterosexual romantic relationship and are open to that, look at the world. Even though there were many scientific studies realized in the field of single women, only minority of them focused on single women in young adulthood. This was the reason based on which this thesis decided to specify on women in young adulthood. In the practical part of the thesis two interviews with two university students were analyzed. Both of them were evaluated using thematic analysis. In every interview there were 6 main themes detected. Some of the themes were common for both interviews, others were unique for each of them. In the same way, some of the themes from the first interview were overlapping with some of the subthemes from the second interview. In the part of the results, each of the themes was more specified and consequently set in the context of the theoretical background in the discussion part. At the conclusion, limitations and possible suggestions for additional research were presented.

Abstract:

Cieľom tejto práce bolo hlbšie porozumieť prežívaniu žien v mladej dospelosti, ktoré nikdy nezažili vážny heterosexuálny romantický vzťah aj napriek tomu, že boli tejto skúsenosti otvorené. Zatiaľ čo v oblasti nezadaných žien sa uskutočnilo mnoho výskumov, iba menšina z nich sa venovala prežívaniu žien v období mladej dospelosti. To bol dôvod, na základe ktorého sa práca zamerala práve na ženy v tomto vývojovom období. V praktickej časti boli analyzované dva rozhovory s vysokoškolskými študentkami, pri rozbore ktorých bola použitá metóda tematickej analýzy. Pri každom rozhovore bolo identifikovaných 6 hlavných tém. Niektoré z týchto tém mali obe respondentky spoločné, iné témy boli špecifické pre každý rozhovor. Tak isto sa určité témy z jedného rozhovoru prekrývali s podtémami z druhého rozhovoru. V rámci výsledkov boli jednotlivé témy bližšie popísané a následne boli v diskusii zasadené do kontextu teoretickej časti práce. Na záver boli uvedené ako limity tejto práce, tak aj možný návrh na ďalší výskum.
