Intergenerational Conflict in a Family Business

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá mezigeneračními konflikty v rodinném podnikání. Cílem této práce je identifikovat a analyzovat nejen důvody k mezigeneračnímu konfliktu, ale i způsoby, jak konfliktům předcházet a zabránit dopadu na chod podniku. Odpovědi byly získány pořízením šesti polostrukturovaných rozhovo-rů respondenty ze tří různých firem. Vždy byl dotazován zástupce mladší gene-race a zástupce starší generace ze stejné firmy. Rozhovory byly následně analy-zovány a porovnávány s dostupnou literaturou. Tak mohlo být zhodnoceno, zda se české rodinné firmy s mezigeneračními konflikty v rámci podnikání setkávají a jak je řeší.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with intergenerational conflicts in family business. The goal of this work is to identify and analyze not only the reasons for intergenerational conflict, but also ways to prevent conflicts and prevent the impact on the business. The answers were obtained by conducting six semi-structured interviews with respondents from three different companies. A representative of the younger generation and a representative of the older generation from the same company were interviewed. The interviews were subsequently analyzed and compared with the available literature. In this way, it was possible to assess whether Czech family firms encounter intergenerational conflicts within the framework of business and how they are resolved.
