The evaluation of the potential of the tourist information centre USE-IT Prague

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá hodnocením potenciálu turistického informačního centra USE-IT Prague a jeho možnostech v turistické destinaci Praha. Cílem je zjistit, zda jsou služby, které informační centrum v současné podobě nabízí, pro návštěvníky dostatečně atraktivní a zda je možné, aby informační centrum fungovalo na takové bázi, aby pokrylo veškeré své náklady na provoz. Úvodní kapitoly se věnují vymezení základních pojmů týkajících se cestovního ruchu a jeho účastníků, definici turistického informačního centra a neziskové organizace a také popisu nástrojů používaných pro hodnocená podniku - lean canvas a SWOT analýzy. V druhé teoretické části je pozornost zaměřena na neziskovou organizaci USE-IT. Popsáno je její fungování jak na celoevropské, tak na republikové úrovni a dopodrobna je rozebráno fungování pražské pobočky. Praktická část pak na základě analýzy výsledků dvou dotazníkových šetření provedených mezi návštěvníky informačního centra USE-IT a mezi ostatními evropskými USE-IT informačními centry hodnotí možnosti, které informační centrum má. Toto zhodnocení je provedeno jednak vypracováním lean canvas, jednak pomocí SWOT analýzy. Na základě získaných zjištění je v poslední kapitole předložen návrh konkrétních služeb, které by mohlo informační centrum USE-IT svým návštěvníkům nabízet za účelem zvýšení atraktivnosti celého prostoru.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis evaluates the potential of the tourist information centre USE-IT Prague and its possibilities in the tourist destination Prague. The aim is to determine, whether the services the information centre currently offers are attractive enough for the visitors and whether it is possible for the information centre to make a profit in order to cover its operating costs. The introductory chapters are devoted to definition of basic terms relating to tourism and its participants, tourist information centre, non-profit organization and tools used to evaluate potential of certain business - lean canvas and SWOT analyses. The second theoretical part pays attention to the USE-IT organization on the European level as well as Czech level. The Prague branch is described into more detail. The practical part evaluates the possibilities the information centre have. The evaluation is based on two surveys among visitors if the USE-IT information centre and other European USE-IT information centres. The evaluation contents lean canvas and SWOT analyses. The last chapter propose the particular services, which USE-IT information centre could offer its visitors in order to increase the attractiveness of the whole place.
