Coping strategies for managing psychological trauma in middle-aged women

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na oblast psychického traumatu a jeho zvládnutí prostřednictvím využití copingových strategií. Cílem této diplomové práce je zjistit, jak prožité psychické trauma dlouhodobě působí v životě žen středníhpo věku, zda je tento vliv vnímám ženami spíše jako přínosný či spíše jako negativní, dále je zde sledováno trauma v kontextu transgeneračního přenosu. Práce poukazuje na zkušenosti žen s pomocí, kterou při procesu zpracovávání traumatu využily. Hlavním cílem výzkumné části bylo vysledovat, jaké zkušenosti mají ženy středního věku s procesem zvládnutí traumatického prožitku. V diplomové práci byly sledovány další vedlejší cíle, které souvisely s celkovým cílem diplomové práce. Výzkum byl zpracován prostřednictvím kvalitativního výzkumu, pro získání dat byla použita metoda polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Získané data byla poté zpracována a analyzována.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the area of psychological trauma and its managing through the using of coping strategies. The aim of this thesis is to find out how experienced psychological trauma has a long-term effect on the lives of middle-aged women, whether this influence of women's perception is more beneficial or more negative, trauma is also monitored here in the context of transgenerational transmission. The work points to experiences of woman with the help they used in the process of experienced trauma. The main goal of the research part was to observe what experiences middle-aged women have with the process of coping with a traumatic experience. In the diploma thesis, other secondary goals were pursued, which were related to the overall goal of the diploma thesis. The research was conducted through qualitative research, the method of semi-structured interviews was used to obtain data. The procuranced data were then processed and analyzed.
