The phenomenon of interactive documentary movies

Abstract:

V mé bakalářské práci budu rozpracovávat fenoménem tzv. interaktivních dokumentárních filmů. Přesto že toto multimediální odvětví dokumentární tvorby již několik let existuje a nabízí zcela nové a zajímavé přístupy vyprávění příběhu a zapojení svých recipientů, není příliš známé širšímu okruhu publika. Proto bych rád zpracoval ucelený přehled této digitální tvorby. V první části se zaměřím na samotné popsání těchto dokumentů, o co se jedná a jak to funguje, spolu s představením určitých tvůrčích týmů či společností co za nimi stojí. V další části se podrobněji zaměřím na konkrétní funkční prvky, jejich využívání v rámci budování výsledného narativu a paralelu mezi tradičním filmovým žánrem a počítačovou hrou.

Abstract:

In my thesis I will elaborate the phenomenon of the Interactive documentary movies. This multimedia type of documentary filmmaking already existed for several years and offers completely new and interesting approaches in storytelling and engagement of its recipients, but it is still not too much familiar to a wider audience. Therefore, I would like to compiled a comprehensive overview of this digital creation. The first part will focus on the very description of these documents, what it is and how it works, along with the introduction of some certain creative teams or companies which are behind it. In the next part I will focus on some specific functional elements, their use within the creating of the final narrative and the parallels between traditional film genre and computer game.
