Assertive Communication from Perspercive of Primary Teachers

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje tématu asertivity, zejména asertivnímu chování a jednání a zaměřuje se na problematiku asertivní komunikace mezi učiteli a rodiči. Teoretická část obsahuje témata komunikace, její funkce, druhy a bariéry v komunikaci, osobnost učitele, žáka a rodiče. S asertivitou se pojí také pojmy pasivita, agresivita a manipulace, asertivní práva a povinnosti a na závěr autorita. Práce pojednává především o učitelích, jelikož tématika je zaměřena na pohled asertivní komunikace z pohledu učitele základní školy. Učitelé se stali také cílovou skupinou pro můj výzkum v praktické části. Pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu, který jsem pro práci zvolila, bych ráda odhalila původ selhávání komunikace mezi učiteli a rodiči, a přinesla doporučení, jak vést konstruktivní asertivní dialog s rodičem, a jak uvedené problémové situace zvládat. Cíle: 1. Popsat vnímání nejčastěji používaného stylu komunikace samotnými učiteli. 2. Zjistit, zda jsou si učitelé vědomi svých nedostatků a bariér v asertivní komunikaci. 3. Analyzovat původ selhávání komunikace mezi učitelem a rodičem. 4. Popsat metody a doporučení vedoucí k asertivní komunikaci učitelů s rodiči.

Abstract:

The master thesis deals with the topic of assertiveness, especially assertive behavior and actions and focuses on the issue of assertive communication between teachers and parents. The theoretical part of the master thesis contains the topics of communication, its functions, types and barriers in communication, the personality of teacher, pupil and parent, assertiveness which is connected with passivity, aggressiveness and manipulation, assertive rights and obligations and in conclusion authority. The thesis deals mainly with teachers, as the topic is focused on the view of assertive communication from the primary school teacher´s perspective. The teachers have become the target group for my research in the practical part of the thesis. I chose to use the qualitative research method to reveal the origin of the failure of communication between teachers and parents and I would like to give some recommendations how to conduct a constructive, assertive dialogue with the parent and how to deal with these problem situations.
