Abstract:

Tato magisterská práce představuje v co největší výzkumné šíři osobnost Miroslava Müllera (1926-1997), vysokého stranického funkcionáře a vedoucího oddělení kultury ÚV KSČ v letech 1972-1989. Specifikum předkládané práce je zejména komparace dobového stavu populární literatury, který Müller sám aktivně instrumentalizoval, v opozici s tím, jak tyto vlivy zpracovával ve své vlastní literární tvorbě. Práce si zároveň klade za cíl zpracovat ještě stále parciální informace o politické a kulturní roli Miroslava Müllera na ÚV KSČ. Zejména pak potom právě roky normalizačního dvacetiletí, kdy byl Müller pravděpodobně jedním z nejaktivnějších autorů politicko-kulturních represí, včetně takzvané Anticharty. Specifickou součástí tohoto výzkumu pak bude zohlednění pozice Miroslava Müllera jakožto vysokého stranického funkcionáře a současně spisovatele při zkoumání vlivu této dvojí identity na kritický ohlas jeho tvorby.

Abstract:

This master's thesis presents the personality of Miroslav Müller (1926-1997), a high-ranking party official and head of the Culture Department of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia's Central Committee from 1972 to 1989, in the widest possible scope of research. The specificity of the present work is in particular the comparison of the contemporary state of popular literature, which Müller himself actively instrumentalized in opposition, with the way he processed these influences in his own literary work. At the same time, the thesis aims to elaborate on the still partial information about Miroslav Müller's political and cultural role at the Central Committee. In particular, then, it is the years of the normalization decade, when Müller was probably one of the most active authors of political and cultural repression, including the so-called Anticharter. A specific part of this research will then be to take into account Miroslav Müller's position as a high-ranking party functionary and at the same time a writer when examining the impact of this dual identity on the critical reception of his work.
