The memory of the city of Ostrava

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is dealing with the memory of Ostrava, the third largest city of Czech Republic and the capital of the Moravian-Silesian Region. The aim of the bachelor thesis is not only to describe the origin and the most important events in the life of the city, but also to describe the nationalities and minorities in the city Ostrava. The first part of the bachelor thesis is shown the history of the city and the historical change of memory. In the empirical part there is included a survey to determine the interest of the inhabitants in the history, culture, architecture, significant events and famous personalities. The survey results are then processed into a graph. The accompanying photographs document the city. In the conclusion of this bachelor thesis will be evaluated the historical research, the importance of memory and the results of the survey.

Abstract:

Předložená bakalářská práce se zabývá pamětmi Ostravy, která je třetím největším městem České republiky a metropolí Moravskoslezského regionu. Cíl bakalářské práce je nejen popsat vznik města a důležité historické události, ale také popsat národnosti a menšiny v Ostravě. V první části práce je vylíčená historie města a historické změny paměti. Empirická část obsahuje anketu, která má zjistit zájem obyvatel o historii, kulturu, architekturu, významné události a významné osobnosti. Výsledky ankety jsou uvedené v grafu. Doprovodné fotografie dokumentují historii města. V závěru je krátce zhodnocený historický význam Ostravy a výsledky provedené ankety.
